Name: BRETT GUREWITZ
Guitar & Oozin' Ahs
Time in band: 1980-83, 87-94, 2001-

Brett and Greg were the guys who kicked off BR right back in 1980.
Brett was a high school dropout and actually started his "Epitaph" label as a late teen. Through Epitaph and independant LA label, "Chameleon Records" (which went under a few years after), BR's debut, self-titled EP was released.
This made landmark success and contributed promise to their 1982 debut album, "How Could Hell Be Any Worse?", an even bigger Californian Hardcore gold.
By now, Brett's Epitaph label was more than on the road to acclaim.
When Graffin and Hetson wrote the experimental 1983 BR flop, "Into The Unknown", Brett (with Peter and Jay) quit.
After that he focused alot more on working on the Epitaph label and really brought on what it was since 1983.
Brett rejoined with the other members in 1987, to release their brilliant comeback album, "Suffer" in 1988.
In 1994, BR converted to major label, Atlantic, and although Brett stayed in BR for that 1 non-Epitaph album, "Stranger Than Fiction", he subsequently left.
He contributed his songwriting and guitar skills for a single track he featured on called "Believe It", on the album from 2000, "The New America".
In 2001, Brett rejoined the band and they made their greatest and most awaited Greg-Brett collabaration for the 2002 Epitaph album, "The Process of Belief".
